DNF & evacuation SUPPORT

USE 911 IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY.

Have a FRIENDS/FAMILY on standby IF NEEDED, for pick-up. 

If you do-not-finish (DNF) and have no pick-up, call us (613 415 5863) to let us know. We are not a rescue source however we need to know if you are out of the race and what your plan is to get out. 


Turn-arounds & cp's
50KM: Control POint (CP)/TURN-AROUND IS at the Ma te way arena in renfrew. here there will be water/coffee and option to purchase food at the arena as well as some snacks provided by the wendigo (MCguires donuts). 

100KM 
CONTROL POINT 1: GEAR HEADS BIKE SHOP PETAWAWA: Turn around is at the petawawa river bridge on the algonquin trail. Mandatory CP for the 100km is at Gear Heads Bike Shop upon your return from the bridge. HERE THERE WILL BE WATER/coffee AND SOME SNACKS and pizza PROVIDED BY THE WENDIGO. 
 
200km: 
Control point 1: Gear Heads Bike Shop Petawawa:TURN AROUND IS AT THE PETAWAWA RIVER BRIDGE ON THE ALGONQUIN TRAIL. MANDATORY CP FOR THE 200KM IS AT GEAR HEADS BIKE SHOP UPON YOUR RETURN FROM THE BRIDGE. HERE THERE WILL BE WATER/coffee AND SOME SNACKS AND PIZZA PROVIDED BY THE WENDIGO.  
CP2: CIVITAN HALL in Cobden: Enter the civitan hall & sign your name and time in/out on the whiteboard, then continue towards REnfrew. /arnprior and back to cobden.    

no official cp on second half of 200km route (from renfrew to arnprior and back to cobden) but there are stores open in the small towns. 

IF YOU DNF, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO NOTIFY EVENT DIRECTOR AT 613 415 5863. EVAC IS NOT PROVIDED UNLESS WE HAVE TIME/RESOURCES TO DO SO BUT WE'RE NOT TO BE RELIED UPON FOR THIS. 

ENVIRONMENT
EXPECT WINDSWEPT CONDITIONS, GRAVEL ROADS (SNOW/DIRT MIX) AND RAIL TRAIL GROOMED BY THE OFSC. LOTS OF OPEN COUNTRY, WITH WIND BEING YOUR FRIEND OR WORST ENEMY OUT THERE. 

WE CANNOT and do not CONTROL THE CONDITIONS OF THE COURSE or the grooming schedule on the algonquin trail. 

THE SKIDOO TRAIL IS AN OFSC (ONTARIO SNOWMOBILE TRAIL) AND IS OPERATED BY THE OFSC DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. 
IT IS OPEN TO SKIDOO TRAFFIC AND OTHER TRAFFIC. 
THE TRAIL IS MOSTLY RAIL GRADE

***CELL COVERAGE IS 75% OR GREATER THROUGHOUT THE COURSE. 


YOU are required to leave no trace while on course, garbage and personal items to be carried out with you or disposed of in a garbage.
